Week 17

So I’m now in week 17. I really don’t feel pregnant. I’m not getting nauseous anymore. I don’t feel the baby inside at all yet. I just feel regular. I don’t even really have much of a belly at all. Still wearing all of my regular clothes. From what I hear, I’m sure many preggos (what people now call me at work “prego”) would be very jealous. So I guess I’m very lucky. That’s pretty sweet.

In 2 weeks I’ve got 3 different doctor appointments all on the same day (Monday, April 14th) -
1. Ultrasound #2 – Boy or Girl??????????????
2. Check-up – Heartbeat
3. Lab work – Blooood (ouch!)

Non-baby Rant

People keep sending me Microsoft Office files… but STUPID Microsoft decided to put an “x” on their new file versions. So… no more “.doc”… now it’s “.docx”… so lots of incompatibility issues. Annoying. It’s been frickin’ “.doc” for like 10 years. Why change? Oh… so everyone needs to buy new software… Grrrrr

Baby Style

For kicks, my mother and I went browsing around Baby’s R Us tonight. I fell in love with the brand Nature’s Purest “Hug Me” collection (www.naturespurest.co.uk). They’ve got EVERYTHING in this theme – playpens, swings, bedding, you-name-it. Whether we’re having a boy or girl – it’s perfect for our style. We looked through ALL of the themes at the store and in the catalog – and although it’s early – this is it! My mother actually purchased a couple of the bedding items (see below).

Doctor’s Appointment 2

Last week I had my second doctor’s appointment. I got back all of my test results from the first appointment. EVERYTHING came back as good as can be. The doctor is very happy with my health, and doesn’t need to see me for another month. In fact, at my next appointment I’ll be far enough along to find out the sex!!!

Can’t Wait!

Got the news from Dave’s sister, Suz… today she found out she’s having a… BOY! Now that she knows… it’s killing me that I have another 4 weeks or so before I can find out. I won’t be disappointed either way, but I’m leaning towards hoping it’s a girl. Plus, that’ll help balance out the grandkids for Dave’s mother… right now for boys she’s got Matthew, Timmy, Paul, and the soon-to-be. For girls she’s got Cassie and Maddie. So…. let’s go girl! Oh, and Paul’s got a couple of brothers on his mother’s side and has mentioned that it might be cool to have a sister. We’ll see… Can’t wait!

Names

I’m finding that thinking about and utimately picking a name is a very interesting process. We both must like and agree on the name. It should suit a child as well as an adult. There’s only 1 shot at picking the name that this new person will be stuck with for LIFE. Interesting. I’m not yet going to reveal here any of the names that Dave and I have been discussing, but I thought if anyone is reading this and has suggestions, I’d like to hear them.

 I probably won’t have any other updates on anything until after my doctor’s appointment next week.
