4 Month Photo Shoot at Sears

Rice Cereal & Sleeping

So we gave Julia rice cereal for the first time last night. She actually did very well with it. She seemed to really like it. We couldn’t get her to eat much this first time, but we’re excited to see how tonight goes.

Since she didn’t eat that much of the rice cereal, I think it’s just a coincidence… she slept through the entire night! I had to go to work a little after 6am this morning and wanted to give her a bottle before I left so that Dave didn’t have to worry about that when he got up. So I actually woke her up at 5:45am to give her the bottle. I wonder how long she would have slept had I not woken her up. Right after the bottle she went back to sleep until like 7:30am. I’m excited to see if she sleeps the full night again tonight.

We’re going to get her 4 month prof photos taken tomorrow afternoon at Sears. I’m excited about that. I’ll be posting those pictures on Monday. I’ll also try to take a video clip of tonight’s rice cereal feeding to post.

4-month Doctor Visit

Julia went to the doctor today for her 4-month check-up. She’s GREAT! The doctor couldn’t be happier with her growth and development. She’s now 15 pounds and 25.5 inches. She’s in the 91 percentile for height and 81 percentile for weight, with a weight for height percentile of 37. Julia had to get 4 vaccines today, which she was FURIOUS about. I felt sooooooo bad. Poor girl! We discovered that starting this week, we can start giving her solid foods. We’re going to start with rice cereal for dinner tomorrow night! Dave is going to get a little video clip of it, so I’ll be sure to post it when it’s available.

GROWTH COMPARISION:
Birth: 7 pounds, 11 ounces — 20 inches
NOW: 15 pounds — 25.5 inches

Babies grow fast…

Is Julia sleeping thru the night?

Nope! I’m up every night for a half hour between 3-4am typically. Not too bad. Although this week she’s sick, so she’s been restless all night nearly every night.

4 months!

Julia is just about 4 months old!!! Where did the time go? She’s not a little newborn anymore. It’s very much a bitter sweet feeling. She seems to be getting so old so fast. I blink and she’s different. We’re going to the doctor next Wednesday for her check-up. Julia will be getting some shots and I’m sure we’ll be discussing FOOD! That’s going to be fun. I’ll be sure to get her first eating experience on video.
